Unique Front Pocket Wallets

Wallets are rather strange accessories when you think about it. They are rarely seen except for the unsightly bulge they leave in your back pocket. A wallet also has a way of making your heart skip a beat or two and your hands go cold when you go to reach for it and that “comforting” bulge is absent. Few things are more frightening than losing a wallet or worse, having one stolen!

That’s why a lot of men and probably a few women as well, have developed the nervous habit of periodically patting themselves on the rear end to make sure their trusty wallets are still safe and sound. It’s certainly understandable when you consider what all gets crammed into the typical wallet:

*Cash
*Credit Cards
*ATM and Debit Cards
*Insurance Cards
*Precious Family Photos
*Cash
*Coupons & Coffee Shop Punch Cards

wallets and lower back painSome people even keep their Social Security cards in their wallets. This is a big fat no-no! There’s no reason to carry your SS card around in your wallet. Keep that thing safe at home. No reason to give a thief your cash, credit cards, and you SS card. You might as well just hand them your complete identity on a silver platter!

Beyond the importance of keeping your wallet and its contents secure, it’s also worth considering the health benefits of a wallet.

What???

Well, actually, a thick wallet bulging in your back pocket can cause all sorts of lower back pain over time.

I’ve experienced this problem firsthand.

Sitting on my fat wallet all day at work and also while commuting a long distance to and from work really started to take a toll on my lower back. It was such a relief to finally take the darn thing out of my pocket and throw it on the kitchen counter when I got home in the evening. Of course I would repeat this entire pain inducing process the next day.

I had heard a long time ago that it was better to keep your wallet in your front pocket for both added comfort and as well as for added security against pick pockets. One attempt at that and I knew that wasn’t going to work out at all. A fat ugly bulge in your rear pocket is one thing, but one in your front pocket - well, what can I say, but “no way!”

So I continued to suffer with the lower back pain.

Driving became particularly uncomfortable and I would fidget around to take the direct pressure off my wallet and my lower back. I had learned a long time ago that taking the wallet out of my back pocket even for a brief time was inviting disaster. Invariably I would forget to take it with me when leaving the car, which would result in an embarrassing moment when attempting to pay for a meal somewhere like at McDonald’s!

It’s been a long wait, but I have finally found the answer to my “fat wallet” problems:

The “Rogue Wallet” Front Pocket Wallet

unique front pocket walletsThe “Rogue Wallet” - a unique front pocket wallet. The Rogue Wallet is an extremely thin wallet that slips very comfortably into my front pocket. The “bulge factor” is minimal and I’ve worn it comfortably with jeans, dress slacks, shorts, and even gym shorts.

Putting my old bulky leather wallet into the front pocket of a pair of gyms shorts is extremely awkward to say the least. The shear weight of that wallet would have me constantly hiking up my shorts!

The Rogue Wallet is also extremely cool! If I may use that term at my age. Its profile is a bit like a Bowie Knife and it slides into my front pocket very smoothly. It also looks cool when I slide it out and unfold it. I imagine it’s the kind of wallet that James Bond himself would have given the nod to.

The Rogue Wallet comes in two basic styles - the dressier black leather style and the “Casual Rogue Wallet” in army green canvas. I went with the Casual Rogue Wallet since I wanted something a bit more water-proof.

Now I did have to put my wallet on a diet in order to make the move to the Rogue Wallet, but this was a good thing. It’s amazing how much junk accumulates in your wallet! I think in this regard, men aren’t any better than women. In fact, given the same space as a purse, I’m pretty sure men would fill it up very quickly!

Having a slimmed down wallet is a big relief. I think the trend is to travel lighter these days so why not begin with your wallet?

At $29.95, the Rogue Wallet is a true bargain. My lower back pain seems a little better, though a lot of it is from arthritis, but the biggest relief is not having to sit on that lump while driving long distances! That alone is worth every penny! And of course, the piece of mind that my wallet is much safer “up front” is priceless as they say.
